Terms of Use

These terms govern access to the MeatGPT open beta. By using the beta, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

MeatGPT provides chat-based information and tools that may help with questions related to meat, butchery, cooking, and related topics. The product is experimental and may change, be unavailable, or contain errors. We may modify, pause, or end beta access at any time.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to enter into these terms and comply with applicable law to use the beta. You may use guest chat in this browser without an account. Creating an email account requires verifying an emailed code before choosing a password; you may also use Google Sign-In. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, including a US phone number and city/state during setup, recording a saved-memory preference, safeguarding any account credentials or email verification codes, and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized use. We do not use SMS one-time codes to create or sign in to accounts. Signed-in chat is available after those setup steps are complete.

2A. Promotional credits

Eligible new verified users may receive $250 in non-transferable promotional API credits. Promotional credits have no cash value, cannot be redeemed or refunded, and may be used only for MeatGPT features. The displayed balance reflects metered third-party AI usage and may show recent usage as pending while provider charges are reconciled. Existing safety and usage limits continue to apply. When the balance is exhausted, paid AI features are unavailable unless we grant additional promotional credits. Contact a@tantalus.systems or 312-636-8224 to discuss additional access. We may correct metering errors, change or end the promotion prospectively, or revoke credits obtained through abuse.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the beta only for lawful, personal, or internal business purposes. You may not misuse the service; interfere with its operation or security; attempt unauthorized access; reverse engineer the service except where law permits; submit unlawful, harmful, infringing, or malicious content; use it to create or distribute harmful content; or use automated means to access the service without our permission.

4. Your content and feedback

You retain any rights you have in the content you submit, including chat text, attached images, and knowledge files. You give us permission to host, process, reproduce, extract, summarize, embed, retrieve, and use that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the beta and as described in our Privacy Notice. Chat images may be sent to Google Gemini to answer the related message. Supported documents and images uploaded to your knowledge library may be processed by Gemini into private searchable context, and relevant excerpts may be included in standard chat or Deep Research requests. If you enable saved memory, you also give us permission to extract and store concise business and preference facts from your chats and to use them to tailor later replies. Please do not submit content you do not have the right to share. If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation.

5. AI-generated information and food safety

The beta may use artificial intelligence, including third-party services such as Google Gemini and Perplexity, to produce or research responses. Outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Review all outputs before acting on them.

The service is for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional food-safety, medical, veterinary, legal, or regulatory advice. You are responsible for safe handling, storage, preparation, labeling, and sale of food; for independently verifying information; and for following current guidance from qualified professionals and applicable authorities. Do not use the service for emergencies or time-sensitive food-safety decisions.

6. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Notice, which is incorporated into these terms. Guest chat stays on this browser. An account uses verified email followed by password setup, or Google, then a phone number, city/state, and a recorded saved-memory preference before chat. It collects chat content, optional chat images, optional knowledge files and derived searchable context, optional saved business facts, and service data as described there. You can turn saved memory off, delete saved facts, delete knowledge files, or delete your account in Settings. Data export is not yet available during the open beta; you may contact us with a privacy request.

7. Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the service, including its software, design, branding, and related intellectual property. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the beta while access is provided. These terms do not grant you ownership of the service or our intellectual property.

8. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free, or that outputs will meet your needs. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MeatGPT and its affiliates, providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to the beta. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created risk for the service or others, or if the beta ends. You may stop using the beta at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive will continue after access ends.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the beta evolves. The updated terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the revised terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
